Research Agenda
Dr. Perez-Quetives research agenda is to promote the access, persistence, and successes of traditionally underrepresented populations (e.g., first-generation, parenting students, mature adult learners, women of color, working-lower-class, and racial/ethnic groups) in higher education through ethnography and qualitative examination of students’ testimonios/narratives/stories of their experiences at two- and four-year colleges and universities.
Teaching Philosophy
Dr. Perez-Quetives goals as an instructor are for students to consider how there are many stages to learning. Learning is a lifelong process and commitment. The pedagogy I use strives to motivate students to be involved in their learning process and to consider having an open mindset to not always knowing or being comfortable in discussing critical and sensitive topics, such as racism or gender inequities.
